The Visitor Visa (Subclass 600) is typically granted for 3, 6 or 12 months, depending on your travel purpose, your nationality and your ties to your home country. Most Tourist stream applicants receive a 3- or 6-month grant, with the longer 12-month validity available to applicants who can demonstrate strong home-country ties and a genuine travel history. Multiple-entry grants are common, letting you visit more than once within your visa’s validity period.
Tourist covers holidays and visiting family; Business Visitor covers meetings, conferences and negotiations, but not working for an Australian business; Sponsored Family runs through a sponsor. Every supporting document follows from that choice, which is why we settle it on day one applying under the wrong stream is not corrected at the counter.
Most Tourist stream grants come back at 3 or 6 months. The 12-month validity goes to applicants who can show strong ties at home and a genuine travel history, so we build the funds evidence and the itinerary around the stay you are actually asking for, and say so plainly in the cover letter.
Multiple-entry grants are common, which suits travellers pairing Australia with New Zealand or the Pacific. What an Australian visa does not do is cover those other countries New Zealand needs its own application so we run the two together and keep the dates, the funds and the story consistent across both.
Exact visa validity and stay length are determined by the Department of Home Affairs on a case-by-case basis. We’ll advise on realistic expectations once we review your circumstances.

We never lodge through third-party "visa agent" portals.
