Two routes, one decision

The right route saves you weeks.

India runs two parallel routes, and choosing between them is the whole game. The e-Visa is applied for online and suits most straightforward leisure and business trips, with a decision usually landing within a few working days. The regular sticker visa goes through an embassy process and covers the purposes and durations the e-Visa doesn’t. Starting down the wrong one is expensive in time, because you generally can’t convert from one to the other you begin again, and by then the flights are booked.

e-Visa where it fits

Tourism, visiting family, most business travel and medical visits are handled online, with the decision usually landing within a few working days. It fits the short, straightforward trip where nothing about the purpose is unusual which is most of what we file.

Regular visa where it doesn’t

Employment, journalism, research and longer or repeated stays fall outside the e-Visa, and a small number of nationalities are excluded from it regardless of purpose. Those go through the embassy process with a full document pack behind them and we tell you which side of that line you’re on before you pay us anything.

30 days, one year, or five

Many nationalities can choose between a 30-day, 1-year or 5-year multiple-entry e-Tourist Visa. For anyone visiting family regularly or returning for business, the longer validity is worth the small extra cost one application instead of several.

Eligibility for the e-Visa, and for the 1-year and 5-year durations specifically, depends on your nationality. We confirm the real options for your passport before you pay us anything.

We guide you through the official process

London to India every step through the official e-Visa portal.

Applying from the UK is done entirely online for most nationalities, through the Indian Government’s own e-Visa system there is no walk-in appointment for the standard tourist route. Where your purpose or nationality needs the regular visa instead, that goes through the embassy or an authorised visa application centre. We never submit through unofficial third-party "India visa" portals, of which there are a great many.

Flight time London → Delhi: about 9 hours. Time you’ll spend on your visa paperwork with us: about 20 minutes.

Winter

The main travel season across most of the country. Dry, clear and comfortable through Rajasthan, the Golden Triangle, Kerala and Goa. Book well ahead this is when both international visitors and domestic travel peak.

Spring

Warming quickly on the plains but still pleasant early on, and the window when the Himalayan foothills open up. Holi falls in this stretch. Prices ease as the heat builds.

May–June

Summer

Hot to very hot across the plains, which is exactly why it is the season for Ladakh, Himachal and the hill stations. Low season prices everywhere else.

Green · low season
July–October

Monsoon

Rain across most of the country, heaviest on the west coast. The landscape is at its most dramatic, Kerala’s Ayurveda season runs through it, and it is the cheapest time to travel with the trade-off that transport can be disrupted.

India is several climates at once, so the right season depends entirely on the region the window that suits Rajasthan is the wrong one for Ladakh. Tell us where you’re going as well as when, and we’ll build the itinerary around it. The e-Visa itself moves fast, so there’s no need to apply as far ahead as a regular embassy visa a couple of weeks before travel is usually plenty.

Questions about India

Things people always ask.

Do UK residents need a visa to visit India?

Almost always, yes India offers no general visa-free entry, regardless of your nationality. The good news is that most passports, including British, Pakistani, Bangladeshi, Nigerian, South African and EU ones, qualify for the e-Visa, which is a straightforward online process rather than a full embassy application.

What’s the difference between the e-Visa and the regular visa?

The e-Visa covers tourism, business and medical travel for most nationalities and is decided entirely online, usually within a few working days. Longer stays, employment, journalism, research and a handful of other purposes need the regular sticker visa, which is a heavier, embassy-based process. We confirm which one applies to your trip before anything is submitted starting down the wrong route means beginning again on the other one.

How long does an Indian e-Visa take to process?

Most complete e-Visa applications are decided within a few working days, though it can extend during busy periods or for additional checks. Our own side takes 3–7 working days to have your application accurate and submission-ready the wait after that belongs to the Indian authorities.

How long can I stay in India on an e-Visa?

It depends on which you’re granted: a 30-day e-Tourist Visa, a 1-year multiple-entry e-Tourist Visa, or for eligible nationalities a 5-year multiple-entry e-Tourist Visa. Which lengths and entry types your passport qualifies for varies by nationality, and we confirm the real options for you at the consultation rather than assuming they match someone else’s.

What does an Indian e-Visa cost?

Government fees currently run from roughly £8–£19 for the 30-day e-Tourist Visa up to around £30 for the 1-year e-Tourist Visa, with the 5-year option priced by nationality. Our service fee is fixed at £99, paid separately from the government fee.

Can my family apply together?

Yes each traveller needs their own e-Visa application, but we handle a family or group as one case, with a single consultant, a consolidated document checklist and one combined fee.

What happens if my application is incomplete or incorrect?

A mismatched date or a photo that doesn’t meet specification is the most common reason an e-Visa application stalls or is rejected outright. This is exactly what our document review is built to catch before anything is submitted, rather than after a rejection costs you the processing time.
